Berdasarkan data Survei Angkatan Kerja Nasional (SAKERNAS) yang dilakukan Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), rata-rata usia petani meningkat dari 39,9 tahun pada 2000 menjadi 45,7 tahun pada 2020. Ini menunjukkan tren penuaan tenaga kerja sektor pertanian dan rendahnya minat anak muda menjadi petani.
